Bullying
The College operates a zero tolerance policy on Bullying.
Bullying/harassment is something that someone does on purpose that is meant to hurt you. Bullying can take many forms:-
- name calling, teasing or spreading unkind stories
- physical – hitting, kicking, pushing
- sending cruel and hurtful text messages or emails
- posting cruel or hurtful things on Social Interactive sites such as FaceBook
When this behaviour becomes persistent and threatening, then bullying can become a major problem for all concerned.
What you can do:
- Initially tell your Personal Tutor or a member of staff that you feel comfortable with about what is happening - don't be afraid to come forward
- Your Personal Tutor explores things with you and the accused's Tutor explores things with them and hopefully the situation gets sorted.
- Ultimately disciplinary action will be taken against the individual if the incident/s have taken place on campus/College transport.
- If it is happening on the Internet then report it to the appropriate administrator.
