What is Personal Development Planning (PDP)?

Employability is about much more than just getting your first job - it's about having a positive self image and presenting yourself successfully. PDP helps you to develop your awareness of your strengths and weaknesses in many skills. Your skills, knowledge and personal attributes and the ability to convey them effectively all contribute to your employability.

The job market requires individuals to be increasingly flexible so it is important to be able to manage your own career by recognising all of these. The onus is on you to start at the beginning of your first year with PDP. As a current student, you are able to access the Progress File using the Moodle resource to build up your personal profile. Although responsibility for maintaining it lies with you, you will receive support from your tutor. Review the guidelines on the Moodle PDP module (your tutor will provide you with access).
