A Coleg Llandrillo Cymru Performing Arts student has set her sights on landing a national beauty competition after winning through to the final from the county heat.
Katharine Watson, 20, from Abergele - who is on the second year of the National Diploma in Performing Arts course at the Rhos-on-Sea Campus - will be hoping to capture the Miss Wales title, which takes place at the Cardiff International Arena in June 2010, after successfully progressing through the Miss Conwy heat, which was held at Theatr Colwyn in Colwyn Bay. The winner of the national title gains automatic qualification to the Miss World 2010. Kat also claimed the Miss Charity title in the heat after raising the most money for charity.
In a break from her studies this week, Kat said: “The heat was a really exciting experience and I am really looking forward to representing Conwy in the Grand Final of Miss Wales 2010. My passion is Performing Arts and the College course has inspired me and improved my confidence immensely. The Miss Wales competition encourages entrants to raise money for the Joshua Foundation and I hope to continue with my money-raising efforts in the future.”
All of this years’ finalists are helping to raise money for The Joshua Foundation, which is the chosen charity of the Miss Wales organisation and you can assist Kat by emailing her at KatharineWatsonMissWales@hotmail.co.uk
The winner of Miss Wales will receive a £20,000 prize package and automatic entry into the illustrious Miss World competition, with all expenses paid.
