A Coleg Llandrillo Cymru tutor and some of his students took the plunge and had their hair shaved and permanently dyed, raising money for a local children’s hospice in the process.
Technology tutor Dave Roberts and two of his Engineering students, Callum Bond from Colwyn Bay and Steve Williams from Abergele, helped raise over £500 for Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice after having their hair dyed a multitude of colours. Another group of David’s fundraising students also had extreme haircuts.
Dave said: “Thanks to all the students, staff and friends who sponsored me, especially in the current climate. I would also like to thank Wendy Jones and Tina Harrison-Jones in Hairdressing who took time out to assist the students in making a fabulous job of our hair, and also to the students themselves, who spent two hours making us look so fabulous!”
Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice in Conwy, North Wales, opened in the summer of 2004. It now provides regular periods of respite care to more than 70 terminally ill children and their families living in the North Wales area.
