The Library Resource Centre

The Library Resource Centre offers a wide range of facilities including: video-viewing, electronic resources, access to the Internet and computer facilities to support your studies. There is also a large selection of video and audio cassettes for international students to borrow and daily and weekly newspapers are provided for students to read. The staff are always friendly and helpful and they will happily guide you to the resources that you require.

The Learning Centre

The aim of the Learning Centre is to improve and enhance your learning experience at the College. It has a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere and the staff can provide support with:

  • Mathematics
  • English
  • Key Skills
  • Study Skills
  • Presentation Skills
  • Essay writing

IT Workshop

The IT Workshop provides a flexible drop-in facility for all students. Helpful and friendly staff are on hand throughout the day to give advice and support and a variety of IT Open Learning materials are available for student use. Email, internet, scanners, desktop publishing, multimedia computers and colour printing facilities are all available within the Workshop. Induction on the use of the Workshop is provided to all students when they arrive at the College. If you do not have IT lessons as part of your course, the IT Workshop can provide help and assistance to you.

Personal Tutor

Each full-time student at the college is allocated a personal tutor. A personal tutor is there to help and support you on any personal or academic matter.

Employment Opportunities

Most students on courses lasting more than 6 months will be given a passport stamp or visa sticker that allows them to work part-time during the term (10-20 hours a week) and any number of hours during College holidays. However, students cannot rely on expected income from part-time and vacation work as evidence of financial resources when dealing with the UK immigration authorities. For further information from UKCOSA about this topic, download the Guidance Note, 'Working in the UK during your studies'.
