Accommodation at Llandrillo

Once you have been accepted onto a course at Llandrillo College, you will be sent an accommodation request form which will ask you for your preferences regarding the type of accommodation you would like. When the International Team receives the completed form, your accommodation will be arranged. You can choose from:

Living with a Host Family

We realise how important it is to have a safe and comfortable place to live. Our host family accommodation is carefully selected and personally approved by our International Officers.

We strongly recommend host family accommodation if you are coming to the UK for the first time and it is compulsory for students who are under 18 years of age. Living with a family will help you learn all about British family life and give you an opportunity to practice your English at the same time. Even if you would rather live by yourself, living with a family for the first few months can help you settle in and adjust to your new life in the UK.

The minimum length of stay with a host family is four weeks. You will have a single room in a comfortable home. The room will consist of a single bed, wardrobe and study area. There may be other students living in the house, but they are likely to be of a different nationality. The College insists that the family give you a certain level of support and service. Equally, you will be expected to live by the rules of the house and show the family respect.

There are two kinds of Host Family accommodation to choose from: Catered and Self Catered.

Catered in a Family Home

You will be provided with breakfast and dinner during the week and all meals at weekends.

COST: £85 per week. All of your bills are included and you should pay your host family directly.

Self-Catered in a Family Home

If you prefer to do your own cooking and live more independently, then this is the best option to choose. You will still have the support of your host family when you need it, but you will cook for, and look after yourself.

COST: £65 per week. All of your bills are included and you should pay your host family directly.

Renting a House, Flat or Studio Apartment

We do not place students in private rented flats or houses but we will supply you with contact details of local letting agents. The International Team will give you as much help as possible to help you find a suitable property.

COST: from £55+ per week. Gas, electricity and water bills will cost you extra as they are not included.
