Personal Qualities of a Governor
What personal qualities does a governor need?
A good governing body reflects the community it serves, and so thrives
on diversity, bringing together a wide range of people with different
personalities, backgrounds, skills and experience. However, members of a
good governing body share the same distinguishing qualities:
- commitment to education and training, and to the success of the institution's students
- willingness to contribute to the life and well-being of the institution and its community
- commitment to strengthening the links between the institution and its business and local communities
- dedication to acting openly, honestly and with integrity; and
- determination to get results by innovation and enterprise.
