Entry Guidelines

If you don't have the Entry Guidelines listed below, do apply anyway. There are many other qualifications that can be considered, and work experience often counts too.

Postgraduate Level 7
Qualifications Entry Guidelines
  • MA/MEd
  • PGCE
  • Degree or Higher professional qualification
  • Management experience.
Higher Education Level 4-6
Qualifications Entry Guidelines
  • Honours Degree: BA/BSc (Hons)
  • Foundation Degree: FdA/FdSc/FdEng
  • Higher National Diploma/Certificate: HND/HNC
  • NVQ 4
  • Professional Qualifications
  • Minimum Entry Guidelines range from 80 to 160 UCAS points, with at least 40 points from a full A Level or equivelant Level 3 qualification, supported by 3 GCSEs, Grade C or above, including English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Applicants without formal qualifications but with relevant experience may be considered.
  • Direct admissions to Level 5 or 6 degree programmes may be considered based on previous learning or experience gained elsewhere.

Further Education: Advanced Level 3

  • Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate
  • AS Level & A Level
  • BTEC National Diploma, Certificate or Award
  • International Baccalaureate
  • NVQ 3
  • Open College Network, City & Guilds, and Royal Society of Arts
  • Access to Further Education
  • BTEC First Diploma or Certificate
  • GCSEs Grade C or above
  • Intermediate welsh Baccalaureate
  • Open College Network, City & Guilds, and Royal Society of Arts
  • NVQ 2 in a relevant subject

For Access to Higher Education, no qualifications are needed, but an interview is required.

Further Education: Intermediate Level 2

  • BTEC First Diploma
  • GCSE
  • Intermediate Welsh Baccalaureate
  • NVQ 2
  • Open College Network, City & Guilds, and Royal Society of Arts
  • BTEC Introductory Diploma or Certificate
  • GCSE Grade C/D
  • NVQ 1

There are no entry qualifications required for Access to Further Education and Open College Network programmes.

Further Education: Foundation Level 1

  • Foundation Welsh Baccalaureate
  • NVQ 1
  • Open College Network, City & Guilds, and Royal Society of Arts
  • GCSE Grade D-G
  • Entry Level qualification in a related subject

Formal entry qualifications are not always essential, but you must have motivation, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
