Sports Centre

You can use the Rhos-on-Sea Campus Sports Centre facilities from September to July.

Organised activities include squash, 5-a-side football, volleyball, exercise classes (including Pilates, circuit training, step aerobics and boxercise), badminton, table tennis, racquetball, basketball, trampolining, and cricket. The newly refurbished fitness suite is now much bigger with a wider range of equipment. Membership details are available from Sports Centre reception. You must wear appropriate footwear and kit when using the sports facilities.

The College has academies and development centres in football (men’s and women’s), rugby and netball, and competes in the Welsh and British Sport in Colleges Championships. In 2007, Coleg Llandrillo Cymru was named Wales’ Top Sports College by Edexcel.

Apprenticeships in Sporting Excellence

If you’re already competing at a very high level, Coleg Llandrillo Cymru can help to maximise your sporting potential whilst also working to develop your qualifications for a career outside your chosen sport. The Achieving Excellence programme, designed to meet the needs of young athletes who have the potential to achieve excellence in sport at the highest level, consists of an NVQ, Technical Certificate and Essential Skills alongside development contact time each week with the College’s team of respected coaches and conditioners.

To be eligible for selection, you will need to be at the following or similar level; a full-time contracted apprentice at a professional club, a player at regional or national squad level, an elite sports person identified by your respective national governing body of sport or be involved within an ‘academy environment’.
