After leaving school, I briefly played professional football with Everton FC but after failing to make the grade, I decided to enrol on a course that would give me the tools and knowledge to one day pursue a professional career in Business.

Shortly after graduating from Llandrillo with a degree in Business Management, I joined a private Nursing Care Agency based in Gwynedd. This company has grown phenomenally within the past six years and employs over 150 people, providing some much needed Nursing and Home Care in the community. The skills and knowledge I gained through my time at Llandrillo have most certainly given me the confidence to start up and run a business and helped me to manage a fast growing enterprise.

I came to Coleg Llandrillo Cymru because I felt as though I was being taken advantage of in my previous employment, through my in-experience and lack of qualifications. I believed that the College would help me develop a strong and meaningful career path.

The College staff treated me as an equal. The tutors are knowledgeable in their specialist fields, approachable and easy to talk to.

The course itself gave me reassurance about the industry knowledge I had already attained, along with a much-needed confidence boost.

After leaving the College, I was formally offered a position at Celtic Manor Resort, Newport as a Conference & Banqueting Supervisor. I worked there for a little under two years, and during my time there met numerous celebrities such as Tiger Woods, Michael Caine, Frankie Boyle and Sir Bobby Charlton.

The highlight of my career to date was being handed the responsibility of managing the catering team for the European Ryder Cup Team in 2010.

Coleg Llandrillo Cymru gave me the confidence and reassurance to believe in what I was doing. Had I not completed my course I don’t think I would have been as successful in my career, nor would I now be in a strong position to move on to my first managerial position.
