Advice And Guidance

Advice & Guidance

Whatever you plan to study, as a Rhyl Sixth student, you’ll have access to one-to-one advice, guidance and support from experienced and supportive College staff throughout your course.

This will include Personal Tutor support, study skills sessions, revision sessions, career planning, financial advice, health and welfare support and optional College/home partnerships – all the support you’ll need to ensure your success at College and to help prepare you for work or university.

Personal Tutor Support

Each student will have a Personal Tutor to assist and support you throughout your time at College. Your Personal Tutor will meet regularly with you and:

  • Help plan your programme of study
  • Help you arrange extra learning support if needed
  • Monitor your attendance
  • Arrange careers interviews for you
  • Help you plan for the future and write your reference
  • Review your progress in each subject area
  • Liaise with your family, send them regular reports and invite them to student review evenings

Your Tutors will also give you regular in-class feedback on assignments and assessments.

Careers Wales Advisers will be available to provide personal guidance and support throughout your course and you’ll have the chance to take part in a number of careers events and visits to help you plan for the future.
