Diploma in Computer Office Skills Level 3

What you will study

On this course you will study text and word processing and other areas such as audio transcription, document presentation, legal text processing and other specialist modules. A comprehensive course on accounts/book-keeping will be followed at Level 2 and
Level 3. Office procedures and business administration will be carried out in the College’s Real Work Environment to prepare students for work placement. This will be complemented by studying for the OCR Certificate in Administration Level 3.

Who the course is for

The course runs in school friendly hours over four days each week from
September 2010 – July 2011. This course is designed for students who wish to develop their computer and office skills to a high standard in readiness for employment or higher study.

How you will study

Formal taught and workshop sessions together with opportunities for practical exercises.

How you will be assessed

Text, word processing and bookkeeping modules will be assessed by formal examinations, normally held in February and June. Computerised accounts is by continuous assessment. Diploma in Administration units will include assignment tasks. ECDL exams will take place in our test centre.

Qualification Title

OCR Text Processing Diploma Advanced; OCR Accounts Certificate Level 2; OCN Computerised Accounts Level 3 & BTEC National Award in Business Administration Level 3

The course is studied over one year from September 2010 – July 2011.

Entry Requirements

For entry onto the course you will need:
- GCSE in English and Maths
- OCR Level 1 bookkeeping or equivalent
- Level 2 Certificate/Diploma in Text Processing
- Level 2 Certificate in Admin or equivalent

Alternatively experience of working in administration.

Your Options After the Course

Once you've complete the course you could go onto study for further Administration qualifications or go into employment. You could also move onto to a Higher Education course at Coleg Llandrillo Cymru including the Foundation Degree in Management & Business or Retail.
